MyPhone presents My Art Competition—an inter-university competition that will challenge young Filipino artists to inspire and transform society through artworks that convey their singular vision and interpretation of Freedom. With compelling pieces on the theme Freedom, young artists will dare to break free from the different shackles that imprison the country.

  1. Eligibility
  2. The competition is open to enrolled college student members of Fine Arts organizations in universities nationwide. MA and PhD students are ineligible.
  3. Participants may only enter in teams of ten (10). The team must be composed of ten (10) outstanding artists in the field of oil painting.
  4. Participants are not necessarily Fine Arts majors.
  5. All the members of a team must come from the same university.
  6. Groups and organizations may send more than one team.
  7. All entries must be the students’ original works and not previously featured in any exhibition
  8. All members of the teams should be at least eighteen (18) years of age. Minors may be allowed to join the teams and submit their respective works provided that they submit a written consent from their respective parents/guardians allowing them to participate and submit their works.
  9. Entries
  10. A team is required to submit ten (10) entries, one (1) from every team member.
  11. Each entry must comply with the following requirements:
  12. The entry must be an oil painting.
  13. The entry must not be smaller than 4×5 feet and not bigger than 4×8 feet.

iii. The entry must be on canvas.

  1. The entry must be unframed.
  2. The entry must follow the theme FREEDOM.
  3. Entries must be submitted either online, through the MyPhone Presents My Art Competition website, or via snail mail and must comply with the following requirements:
  4. The team must submit its members’ entries as a collection, in sets of ten (10).
  5. Entries must be submitted in the form of photographs.

iii. The photographs must be unedited and taken in natural light.

  1. Each artwork must be in jpeg format, and must not exceed 2mb.
  2. Each entry must be accompanied with the following information: (1) name of artist, (2) year and course, (3) school, (4) scanned copy of a document that serves as proof of enrollment, (5) contact details, (6) title of artwork, (7) a brief description of the artwork, the inspiration behind it, and its relevance to the theme FREEDOM, (8) brief artist’s biography.
  3. Entries may be submitted through any of the following avenues:

Option 1: Via Email

-Interested parties may send their entries to this email address: myart@myphone.com.ph

-Email’s subject must be: MyArt Competition (Name of School and Team)

Option 2: Via Snail Mail

-Interested parties may send their entries through snail mail to the following address: MyPhone Building, 2000 East Service Road, Bicutan, Paranaque City, Metro Manila. Tel 63 2 861 4077

-Entries should be compiled in a CD, and enclosed in a short brown envelope labeled with the following information:

-The information requested in section c.iv should be in a Word document. This should be included in the CD as well as printed out.

  1. Once an entry is submitted, the participant is giving MyPhone the right to use the artwork in its communication materials.
  2. Myphone will not be held accountable for the loss of or any damage the artworks may incur.
  3. Each participant shall warrant that his/her respective artwork is his/her own creation and that he/she shall render MyPhone free and harmless from any damage or liability arising out of any suit or claim by third parties in connection with the artworks.
  4. Exhibit
  5. The finalists, the top (fifteen) 15 teams, will have their original artworks exhibited at the Green Sun.
  6. For a period of three (3) months, 5 teams will have their original artworks exhibited every month.
  7. On instances wherein the venue is reserved for special events, MyPhone reserves the right to temporarily remove the artworks from display.
  8. Judging and prizes
  9. Each entry will be judged according to the following criteria: artistry, skill, and faithfulness to the theme.
  10. Four (4) awards will be given:
  11. Best Artist: the individual with the highest score, not necessarily from the winning team
  12. Best University Art Club: the team whose members are able to acquire the best score

iii. People’s Choice: the individual voted as the People’s Choice through an winning team highest cumulative score online poll in the MyPhone Facebook page.

  1. The following prizes will be given:
  2. For the Best Artist: P100,000 and a MyPhone Infinity phone
  3. For the Best University Art Club: P200,000 and 10 MyPhone Aqua Rio

iii. For the People’s Choice: P50,000 and a MyPhone Aqua Rio phone

  1. Aside from the monetary reward, the artworks and names of the Best Artist and the Best University Art Club might be featured on MyPhone billboards and MyPhone product packaging.

  3. Deadline and schedule
  4. Entries will be received through the website from September 1, 2014 until October 10, 2014.
  5. The fifteen (15) team finalists will be announced on October 1, 2014.
  6. The fifteen (15) team finalists will, in turns, have their original artworks exhibited at the Green Sun from October 15 to December 10, 2014.
  7. The winners will be announced on December 11, 2014.
